Impressions

18/11/08 - Cool, cooler, Berlin!

After having an extensive breakfast at our hostel we met at 8.30am at the reception. Due to organisational difficulties we left ten minutes late. The bus trip seemed to be quite short as many participants preferred to sleep (apparently, the Bermuda Party (Players night) didn’t end at midnight). Alternatively, there was the possibility of watching “Oceans 11”.

Two hours later we went to an Italian restaurant in order to take lunch. The “12 Apostel” served delicious pizza and pasta in a lovely ambiance.

After one hour of all-you-can-eat buffet we moved on to the Sony Center at the Potsdamer Platz. Even the rain couldn’t prevent us from visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Humboldt University and the Holocaust Memorial. The walk was everything but boring as Jörg was presenting many pieces of information about these places. Thanks to Eike all of Jörg’s explanations were translated into English.

Having arrived at the Sony Center we enjoyed two hours of free time for shopping or buying souvenirs. We met at our bus by 7pm and drove back to Dresden.

Afterwards we dined at the city hall and played some games of chess or other board games. From now on everybody can say that he/she has seen Germany’s capital. This day was really informative.
