Eike Schwede

  • When I was six, all my friends started to play chess, so I did, too. And I liked it.
  • I hope to meet nice people from all over the world and to have some nice days with a lot of fun in Dresden.

Sonja Häcker

  • Name: Sonja Häcker
  • Age: 23
  • Location: Tübingen
  • I learned playing chess when I was five years old. I took part in many youth tournaments and especially enjoyed visiting foreign cities und countries. Today I like playing chess because it offers me the possibility to meet my friends.
  • I’m looking forward to show my country to our guests and to learn something about foreign countries and cultures. I’m sure that we will have a nice and exiting week with a lot of fun and new experiences by visiting Dresden, Berlin and the Chess Olympiad.

Patrick Thiele

  • Name: Patrick Thiele
  • Age: 26
  • Location: Hamburg
  • I play chess because of my club since my elementary school. I like the fact that everyone has to deal with oneself.
  • I expect a pleasant week with many minded, communicatives and interested young people from all over the world.

Jonas Mücksch

  • Name: Jonas Mücksch
  • Age: 20
  • Location: Dresden
  • There are quite a lot reasons why I am playing chess. The first one is obvious: It is fun! But while thinking on this question I noticed, that I consider my chess-mates and the unbelievable feeling after winning long and well-played games as the most important reasons for playing chess.
  • Taking part in this International Youth Camp is a honour for me. I hope the mixture of meeting young person from all over the world doing all these thinks we have planned will be as fantastic as I expect them to be. But in the end the most important fact for me is to enjoy this week and to have a nice time.

Caïssa Klug

  • Name: Caïssa Klug
  • Age: 20
  • Location: Schwerte
  • I have played chess for nearly my whole life, now. How you can imagine I had no chance to escape the temptation of chess, because of my name "Caïssa". I like to play chess because you can have a lot of fun with playing it.
  • I hope that I get to know interesting people and cultures from all over the world. It is amazing that we get the chance to be present at such an event like the Chess Olympiad. I am sure that we have a very nice time in Dresden and I look forward to this event.

Jörg Schulz

  • Name: Jörg Schulz
  • Age: 50
  • Location: Berlin
  • In my school, long time ago, there was a little chess group. Later I took part in a chess club. After some years, I founded my own club. This was the beginning of the time I organized more than I played chess - and today it's the same.
  • I like the work with young people and it's a honor for me to be a part of the first International Youth Camp in a Chess Olympiad.

Christian Schneider

  • Name: Christian Schneider
  • Age: 20
  • Location: Arnstadt
  • I started playing chess in the age of six. It's a great game and funny, complicated as well, fits me perfect. I often travel to national and international tournaments and I always meet friends and hope to get new ones.
  • I want to meet new people to get new friends in the Youth Camp. Also I want to have a cool week with a lot of new experiences and much fun at all and it's great as well to be live at the Chess Olympiad.
